The promised Hair Simulation test

Its a quick 10 second test(because it takes almost 3 hours to render) That shows how the hair reacts to the model being thrown around. The camera was keyframed to keep up with the model so that the hair was always visible from fairly close up.

In the next hour or so I'll also be uploading the finished UV map for blake. Just playing around with eliminating as much stretching from the hands as possible at the moment.

  1. Ah this is cool dan. The simulation is pretty realistic, good job. Like said in the labs though, the appearance need tweaking. Is there anyway that the plugin for maya could be set up in the labs?

  2. Yeh appearance is next on my agenda, I'll be keeping you guys fairly up to date on the blog. Tomorrow I will be completing all the UV maps for the models I have and will then play around with the appearance and upload some pics so I can get responses. Can also stop by the labs after my food is delivered so we can talk about it there if you guys are in the labs after 5.

I'm not gunna say the plugin can't be setup in the labs because I haven't tried, just remember the install + crack being a pain. Will look through my dls folder and see if I still have the install because I can't remember where i got it from.
