Project Treatment

A copy of the Treatment and Outline.

Premise

Blake is a Superhero from the city of Genesis Metropolis who when returning home one night discovers his wife in bed with another man, in a fit of rage Blake changes from Superhero to Super villain in an instant.
Treatment

Blake stands tall wearing a tight body fitting white costume which shows off his muscular physique, he also wears emerald cape and a face mask to hide his identity. Other than Blake’s costume, dark colours and shadows will be used to portray the darkness and hurt which he undergoes throughout the sequence.
The sequence is set in a dark busy city full of skyscrapers and moving transport. The look of the sequence will be semi photo realistic. It will have a similar look and feel to the 1992 Batman animated series which using a lot of dark colours to portrait the dark city of Gotham.
The sequence will be about 120-210 seconds. It will have a thriller genre but use horror shots in an attempt to add to the thrill of the sequence. The sequence will appeal more to a teenage audience but will intrigue an older audience as well.
The software I will be using to produce this 3D animation will mainly be Autodesk Softimage XSI because it is a piece of software I’m strongest with, I will also do some components in Autodesk Maya as I feel more comfortable scripting in Maya than XSI. Other software’s may include Microsoft Visual Studio for the programming/ scripting task, Mental Ray as it is a strong tool for rendering, Nuke or Adobe After Effects for compositing, Adobe Photoshop for concept art and textures as I am strong with this tool and Adobe Sound Booth for the sound effects.

Synopsis

Blake lives in one of the skyscrapers and after returning home from a heroic task, walks into his bedroom to find another man in his bed. The room will be loosely lit using moonlight through an unblocked window keeping with the theme of darkness.
After a scuffle Blake carries the mysterious man to the roof of his building, here he holds the man off the edge of the building. Blake’s rage overpowers him and he loses all control. His costume begins to change from the heroic white and emerald to the darkened black and ruby. Blake’s wife tries to defend herself and the man for what has happened but it is no use Blake has changed. His rage is now at its peak and he pushes his pleading wife off the building. Realising what he has done Blake’s costume begins to flicker, he throws the man down.
Blake dives off the edge of the building as if he is plummeting to his own death. Blake hits the road with a terrible force. Once the smoke and debris clear you see Blake stood with his wife in his arms. Blake’s costume glows in its magnificent white complemented by his emerald green mask and cape.
